Broken By The Scream (BBTS), formed in 2017, is a Japan-based “metal screaming idol” act that fuses extreme metal with idol performance aesthetics.
Blending ferocious growls and high-intensity screams with crystal-clear melodic vocals, the group delivers a truly unique sonic identity. Their technically driven band sound combined with aggressive choreography has continuously made a strong impact on heavy music scenes both in Japan and internationally.
In 2025, BBTS successfully completed a European tour across seven countries with nine shows, including a main stage performance at Resurrection Fest (Spain) and an appearance at Japan Expo (France). The group also held a one-man live show “THY ART FROM WITHIN” at Daikanyama UNIT in Tokyo.
On August 13, 2025, they released their 4th full-length album Solar Strain, featuring the 14-minute epic track “Tsuioku no Nasca,” showcasing the band’s ambitious musical direction and expanded artistic scope.
In 2026, Broken By The Scream officially signed with the globally renowned metal label Metal Blade Records.
The band is confirmed to perform at the world’s largest metal festival Wacken Open Air (Germany), as well as Reload Festival and Summer Breeze Open Air, marking a major expansion into Europe’s premier metal festival circuit.
As a rare act that seamlessly merges idol culture with extreme music, BBTS continues to build a passionate global fanbase, establishing a distinctive position among Japanese metal artists worldwide.
